Family and Interests

When not working, I like to spend time with my husband John and all the family beasts.

We like to go hiking and camping, though we amble and stroll more than truly hike. Our blog, Camp & Trail in the Northeast, has pictures and reviews of the various places we've camped and hiked, plus links to park resources in the area. When out walking, we also have fun looking for letterboxes.

Some snapshots of family members from the past few years:

Grandma & Grandpa Tschuschke's Wedding Photograph

I color tinted this photo using Photoshop. Move your mouse over each person's face to see their name and relationship to me.

Though I only ever knew one person from this photograph in life, I feel that I got to know each of them in a strangely intimate way as I carefully colored each detail of their face, hair, and clothing. Of course, I don't really know what color their clothing was, or if the tint of their hair is right. I'd love to speak with each of them, to ask them about this day. How did they feel about getting their picture taken? Did they like the way they looked? Were they uncomfortable, sitting there in their dress clothes, waiting for the photographer? What were they thinking about? I wonder what they would have thought about me, sitting at my computer, scrutinizing their faces.
